Abstract

Anterior maxilla area is frequently engaged in maxillofacial trauma and have an important role of facial esthetics. Dental implant is regarded as a good treatment modality for restoration of tooth loss due to trauma. As advancement of surgical procedure and materials for dental implant and reconstruction of soft and hard tissue, dental implant treatment of maxilla anterior is widely used. However, it needs effort and care and is still challenging to accomplish reconstruction of maxilla anterior satisfactorily, especially in case of severe tooth and alveolar bone injuries from trauma. Consideration about soft tissue, hard tissue and prosthesis for obtaining appropriate position of implant, harmony with adjacent soft tissue and achievement in esthetics is necessary in treatment of maxilla anterior. The aim of this article is to report treatment sequence of patients who had severe tooth and alveolar bone injury on anterior maxilla due to maxillofacial trauma and considerations for esthetic and functional rehabilitation.
